Species number (TNS): 694. Fore wing length: 20–24 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Northern New South Wales between Woodburn and Woolgoolga, and from Mount Mellum in south-east Queensland. Adults occur from November to January. Notable localities: Mount Mellum (I. McMaster), Arrawarra. Habitat: Eucalypt forest and adjacent parkland on coastal floodplains. Calling song and behaviour: A rapidly-emitted series of clicks, produced whilst stationary and in flight. Adults sit on the main trunks and upper branches of eucalypts. Similar species: Brown Firetail, Black Firetail, Sweeping Firetail.
