Formerly known as Macrotristria occidentalis Species number (TNS): 066. Fore wing length: 35–41 mm. Distribution and seasonality: South-west Western Australia from Mullewa south to Mt Jackson and east to Dedari. Adults are likely to occur from November to January. Notable localities: Mullewa. Habitat: Populations occur in scrubby heathland and dry shrubland. Calling song and behaviour: A strong continuous buzz. Adults sit on the branches of trees and shrubs. Similar species: Charcoal Screamer, Desert Screamer.
