Formerly known as Macrotristria nanda. Species number (TNS): 070. Fore wing length: 42–58 mm. Distribution and seasonality: The Pilbara, Gascoyne and Murchison River districts of Western Australia from near Newman south-west to near Yalgoo and Paynes Find and south-east to near Laverton. Adults have been observed during February and early March. Notable localities: Murchison River. Habitat: Populations occur in acacia scrub and open woodland. Calling song and behaviour: A continuous, loud buzz. Adults sit on the branches of trees and shrubs. Similar species: Floury Bark Cicada, Desert Screamer.
