Formerly known as Macrotristria aterrima. Species number (TNS): 035. Fore wing length: 31–42 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Western Australia, from near Karratha south along the coast to near Shark Bay and through the inland south to near Yalgoo and near Lake Austin. Adults have been observed during February. Notable localities: Roeburn. Habitat: Populations occur in scrubland. Calling song and behaviour: A strong buzzing call. Adults sit on the branches of small trees and shrubs where they remain fairly sedentary. Similar species: Desert Screamer, Floury Bark CIcada.
