Distribution and seasonality:
Restricted to a small area of
valleys to the west of Kosciusko
National Park, from Khancoban
in New South Wales and west
to near Mount Beauty. Adults
occur during December and
January.
Notable localities:
Corryong, Towong.
Habitat:
Closed grassland.
Calling song and behaviour:
A long or short buzz ending in a
characteristic stutter, often
repeated. A more widespread
cicada, Crop Duster, has an
identical calling song. Adults sit
on the stems of grasses and
occasionally small shrubs.
