Previously referred to as Baeturia flava. Species number (TNS): 550, 551. Fore wing length: 15–19 mm. Distribution and seasonality: North-eastern Queensland where it occurs in the Torres Strait Islands, near Coen, at Iron Range and from near Cooktown south to Mission Beach near Innisfail. In the Northern Territory, populations are found in littoral areas in the north- western part of the Top End. Adults occur from August to May. Notable localities: Darwin, Julatten, Kuranda and Mission Beach. Habitat: Tropical rainforest, monsoon forest and leafy gardens. Species complex includes: Green Fairy (TNS: 550): From islands of the Torres Strait south to Mission Beach. Large Green Fairy (TNS: 551): From islands in the Torres Strait and from coastal areas in the Top End. Calling song and behaviour: A course buzz, produced at intervals during the day and at dusk. Adults sit in the outer foliage of rainforest vegetation, often in clearings. Similar species: Red Belly, Green Ghost (species complex).
