Fore wing length:
13–18 mm.
Distribution and seasonality:
Known from near Port Germein
south to near Port Wilunga and
west to the tip of Yorke
Peninsula in South Australia. An
isolated population may exist
east of Nullarbor Roadhouse
(Simon lab), but this requires
confirmation. Specimens have
been collected from October to
January and possibly February.
Notable localities:
Buckland Park, Port Stanvac.
Habitat:
Open areas of grassland,
segeland or low shrubland.
Calling song and behaviour:
A metallic buzzing call,
displaying marked changes in
amplitude and frequency during
each phrase of song. The call
bears a resemblance to that of
Fence Buzzer. Males sing from
low vegetation.

Lesser Smoky Buzzer, New
England Grass Buzzer, Black
Grass Buzzer.
