Species number (TNS): 073. Fore wing length: 42–47 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Restricted to Cape York Peninsula where it is found at Pormpuraaw (P. Buosi and C. Kahler), Punsland Bay, Heathlands and Hann River Crossing west of Laura. Adults occur from October to February. Habitat: Open forest and tropical eucalypt woodland. Calling song and behaviour: A loud whine, with continuous and pulsing components. Adults occur on the upper braches and stems of trees and are often found on Darwin Stringybark (Eucalyptus tetradonta). Similar species: None, a distinctive cicada.
