Fore wing length:
21–25 mm.
Distribution and seasonality:
Southern central Australia, from
West Wyalong in New South
Wales west to Gawler and near
Coober Pedy in South Australia,
and north-west to north of Alice
Springs in the Northern Territory.
An isolated population also
occurs in the vicinity of Madura in
far south-eastern Western
Australia. Adults occur from
November to February.
Notable localities:
Broken Hill, Oraparinna, Madura
(Simon lab).
Habitat:
Sparse chenopod shrubland.
Calling song and behaviour:
A rapidly-emitted series of
"zeeps", followed by a loud and
rapid "Din-din-din-din-din-din"
sequence before immediately
repeating. Adults sit on the inner
stems and within foliage of
shrubs.
Similar species:
Moree Dinger, Slow Dinger.
