Slender Green Growler Thaumastopsaltria globosa (Distant, 1897)

Previously referred to as Thaumastopsaltria glauca. Species number (TNS): 584. Fore wing length: 23–31 mm. Distribution and seasonality: From the Island of Torres Strait south to Daintree in North- eastern Queensland and from Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory. It is also present is southern Papua New Guinea. Adults may occur between September and June. Notable localities: Groote Eylandt, Iron Range, Mcllwraith Range, Cape Tribulation. Habitat: Tropical rainforest. Calling song and behaviour: A loud, coarse whistle, produced most prominently at dusk. Adults sit high on the upper stems of rainforest trees. Similar species: Robust Green Growler.
