Habitat:
Riverine woodland.
Calling song and behaviour:
A strong pulsing call with a hiss-
like or chanting quality. Singing
occurs at intervals during the
day as well as at dusk. Adults sit
on the upper branches and
stems of trees, including
eucalypts, acacias and
pandanus.
Similar species:
None, a distinctive cicada.
