Species number (TNS): 051.Fore wing length:31–38 mm.Distribution and seasonality:Northern Queensland from Heathlands Station and from Princess Charlotte Bay south to Townsville and west to near Georgetown, with a possible record from further south at Bowen. Adults can be encountered from December until March.Notable localities:Mareeba, Herberton, Hervey Range.Habitat: Tropical bushland, open forest and eucalypt woodland.Calling song and behaviour:A continuous whine at a moderate pitch that gradually proceeds into a regular pulsing pattern. Adults sit on the upper branches and stems of eucalypts and other trees.Colour variation:Adults can be either green or yellow–orange. All specimens tend to fade to yellow after death.Similar species: Coastal Whiner.
