Western Bent-wing Froggattoides pallidus (Ashton, 1912)

Previously referred to as Froggattoides pallida. Species number (TNS): 605. Fore wing length: 25–30 mm. Distribution and seasonality: The central and inland western half of Western Australia. Adults occur sporadically between October and February. Habitat: Acacia scrubland and low shrubland. Calling song and behaviour: Calling commences some hours after dark. Behaviour indicates an unusual call and response pattern, with a loud raspberry- like buzz, responded with a series of soft clicks, similar to Eastern Bent-wing (species complex). Similar species: Eastern Bent-wing (species complex).
