Originally described as Cicada infans. Species number (TNS): 243. Fore wing length: 13–16 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Semi-arid western Queensland (south from Longreach) and eastern South Australia. Notable localities: Blackall, Longreach (A. Ewart). Habitat: Open grassland and grassy woodland. Calling song and behaviour: Introduced with short buzzes, puntuated by brief rattles and followed by a series of sharp chirps. Males call from the stems of grasses. Similar species: Northern Stubby Grass-ticker.
