Species number (TNS): 608. Fore wing length: 33–38 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Found on Christmas Island. Adults are present from August to April. Notable localities: Christmas Island. Habitat: Populations inhabit lush tropical rainforest. Calling song and behaviour: A loud, rich call, with apparent modulations. Adults can be found at varying heights, usually on the main trunks of rainforest trees. Similar species: None; a distinctive cicada.
