Species number (TNS): 703. Fore wing length: 14–18 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Found in the Nullarbor from near Balladonia east to south- west South Australia and in the lower Murray region of south- east South Australia. Adults occur from September to Febuary. Notable localities: Balladonia (Simon lab), Madura, Purnong (A. Stolarski). Habitat: Open grassland. Calling song and behaviour: A buzz of about five seconds duration, repeated regularly. Calling males sit on grass stems. Similar species: None; a distinctive cicada.
