Species number (TNS): 598. Fore wing length: 38–45 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Known to occur at Iron Range and from south of Cooktown to the Innisfail district in north Queensland. Adults may be present from September to May, with most records from late summer to autumn (during the wet season). Notable localities: Mossman, Garradunga. Habitat: Rainforest margins and clearings. Calling song and behaviour: A rattling growl produced for a short period just after dusk. Adults occur in rainforest vegetation and in long grass. Colour variation: Specimens often fade from green to yellow-brown after death. Similar species: Rare Bladder Cicada.
