Species number (TNS): 548. Fore wing length: 34–43 mm. Distribution and seasonality: From south of Cooktown to near Cardwell in north-eastern Queensland. Adults emerge from October to March, with some surviving until April. Notable localities: Kuranda, Malanda. Habitat: Tropical rainforest. Calling song and behaviour: A whistling call, produced at dusk. Adults occur in the rainforest canopy. Similar species: Bagpipe Cicada.
