Species number (TNS): 049. Fore wing length: 47–62 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Northern Queensland from the Windsor Tableland south to Hinchinbrook Island and the ranges north-west of Townsville. Adults are present from September to February. Notable localities: Julatten, Kuranda, Atherton, Mission Beach. Habitat: Rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest. Calling song and behaviour: A loud, harsh drone. Singing occurs prominently from the beginning of nightfall and continues for approximately 15–20 minutes. Adults occupy the forest canopy. Colour variation: Specimens often fade from green to yellow-brown after death. Similar species: Greengrocer.
