Species number (TNS): 071. Fore wing length: 46–58 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Western Australia, from the Gascoyne River north of Meekatharra south-west to near Yalgoo and south-east to Norseman. Adults occur during January and February. Notable localities: Meekatharra, Cue, Coolgardie. Habitat: Low open scrubland. Calling song and behaviour: A loud metallic whine. Adults occur in local aggregations on low trees. Similar species: A distinctive cicada; check genus Thopha.
