Species number (TNS): 547. Fore wing length: 19–29 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Restricted to a small area on Cape York Peninsula, including Cape York, Weipa, Iron Range and the Torres Strait Islands. Adults occur from October to February. Notable localities: Thursday Island (D. Emery), Weipa. Habitat: Open forest, woodland and margins of rainforest in association with Blady Grass (Imperata cylindrica). Calling song and behaviour: A loud whistle. Adults sit on Blady Grass and low shrubs. Similar species: Brown Leaf Cicada.
