Species number (TNS): 588. Fore wing length: 30–36 mm. Distribution and seasonality: The wet tropics of north-eastern Queensland from Windsor Tableland south to Kirrima Range and south- eastern Queensland from Mount Glorious south to Springbrook. Adults are typically present between December and June, but may also occur in other months. Notable localities: Malanda (J. Olive), Windsor Tableland (M. Moulds). Habitat: Remnant (primary) rainforest. Calling song and behaviour: A continuous, pure whistle. Males sit amongst thick vegetation and call only at dusk. Colour variation: Specimens often fade from green to yellow-brown after death. Similar species: Large Bottle Cicada.
