Species number (TNS): 530. Fore wing length: 22–27 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Restricted to Cape York Peninsula and adjacent islands in the Torres Strait in far northern Queensland; also occurs on the adjacent mainland of Papua New Guinea. Adults occur during December and January. Notable localities: Thursday Island, Mt Croll. Habitat: Woodland dominated by Melaleuca sp. Calling song and behaviour: A soft hissing call. Adults sit on the branches and stems of tea- trees. Similar species: None; a distinctive cicada.
