Species number (TNS): 064. Fore wing length: 41–48 mm. Distribution and seasonality: The Top End of the Northern Territory from Litchfield National Park east to Cooper Creek and south to Mataranka. Adults occur from November toFebruary. Notable localities: Tolmer Falls, Katherine Gorge National Park. Habitat: Riverine woodland. Calling song and behaviour: A strong pulsing call with a hiss- like or chanting quality. Singing occurs at intervals during the day as well as at dusk. Adults sit on the upper branches and stems of trees, including eucalypts, acacias and pandanus. Similar species: None, a distinctive cicada.
