Species number (TNS): 620. Fore wing length: 19–22 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Restricted to Norfolk Island. Adults are present from October to April. Notable localities: Norfolk Island. Habitat: Open areas with shrubby vegetation, including highly disturbed habitats. Calling song and behaviour: The call typically begins with cadence of repeated phrases and then progresses into a simple chirping song. Adults can be found on many forms of vegetation, on the main trunks, branches and stems of small trees and shrubs. Colour variation: Specimens fade from green to yellow after death. Similar species: A distinctive cicada, unlikely to be confused with any other within Australian territories.
